Israeli warplanes recently struck another UN-run school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in numerous casualties.

Iran Press/West Asia: The attack occurred on Tuesday morning as the conflict in Gaza extends into its tenth month. The school, operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), shelters many displaced individuals.

Palestinian medical officials report that the late-night airstrike injured 15 civilians at the school. In response, Israeli military sources acknowledged the strike on what they referred to as a "school complex," claiming it was being utilized as a command center by Hamas fighters.

Additional Israeli airstrikes across Gaza have led to further fatalities. The Wafa news agency notes that 16 Palestinians were killed in various locations. In the Nuseirat camp, a strike on the Freih family residence resulted in seven deaths, with numerous injuries reported and some individuals still unaccounted for amidst the wreckage.

In northern Gaza City, six fatalities occurred in a home on Jalaa Street near the al-Ghafri Junction, where an infant was also dramatically rescued from the rubble. The Lababidi area in northern Gaza saw three more deaths.

Israeli artillery has also targeted the vicinity of al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City and the western sector of Rafah City.

The recent strike on the UNRWA school marks another incident in a series of attacks on United Nations facilities in the region. Since October, over 450 UN buildings have been struck. UNRWA has denounced these attacks as a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner General of UNRWA, revealed on the social media platform X that since the conflict's onset, around 190 UNRWA facilities have been targeted, some repeatedly. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of 520 people and injuries to nearly 1,600, many of whom are women and children seeking refuge in these facilities.
