The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations said that the US unilateral and illegal acts of coercion have been unprecedentedly intensified in the silence of the international community and threaten the foundations of multilateralism.

Iran PressAmerica: The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations, Eshagh Al Habib added on Monday at the second committee of the UN General Assembly in New York, that the international community must take firm steps in a decisive manner based on political commitment, to completely eliminate unlawful, illegal US acts and provide the right environment at all levels for equitable and balanced development of all countries.

Al Habib noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran despite all sanctions and restrictions is committed to contribute to a world free from poverty, hunger, ignorance, disease and climate problems.

The United States, since its withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), has launched a comprehensive campaign to exert maximum pressure on Iran.

US President Donald Trump unilaterally on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's obligations under its international agreement, withdrew the US from the nuclear deal and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.

This act of Trump has received widespread domestic and international condemnation.
