Iran Press/ Iran news: Referring to Vienna talks on reviving Iran's nuclear deal, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said: "The Vienna talks show Iran's upper hand, and today the world has accepted that there is no other way but to agree with Iran and lift sanctions, and this is a great success for the Iranian people."
In a meeting with economic activists on Monday, Hassan Rouhani said, "Trump's economic war against the Iranian nation aimed at the collapse of Iran and the overthrow of the Islamic system."
"If we want to progress, we must improve the country's place in science and economy," Rouhani added.
About the coronavirus outbreak, the Iranian President went on to say: "After the COVID-19 vaccines were made, we wanted to buy them, but the World Health Organization (WHO) had not approved them, and Iran's subsequent attempts to buy also faced with obstacles."
Stating that the health guidelines and vaccination are still the most effective way to combat the coronavirus outbreak, Hassan Rouhani added: "After developing the COVID-19 vaccine, I ordered that it be imported, but it took a long time for the World Health Organization to approve some of the vaccines."
The president noted: "After going through all these issues, when we wanted to sign a contract to buy the vaccine, we faced another problem, and that was the unimaginable cruelty of the world, especially the United States. We never imagined that a country would want to thwart other government efforts to protect its citizens from diseases such as COVID-19."
In another part of his speech, Rouhani said: "Once in 2011, the Americans and the West decided to put pressure on Iran to come to the negotiating table, in the economic war of the past three years, plans were implemented not to persuade Iran to negotiate, but to collapse the economy and overthrow the Islamic Republic.
The President stated: "With the comprehensive efforts of the economic activists, the guidance of the Supreme Leader and the efforts of the government, neither the country's economy nor the Islamic Republic collapsed."
The President also referred to Iran's confrontation with the United States in international bodies, saying: "During the last eight years, we have won twice at the International Court of Justice in the Hague and twice at the United Nations against the United States."
