Iran Press/America: Turkey started an initiative to increase international awareness to stop the sale of weapons and ammunition to the Israeli regime and sent a letter to the Security Council with the support of 52 UN member states and 2 international and regional organizations.
The signatories of the mentioned letter invited the international community to stop sending ammunition and weapons to Israel and asked the United Nations Security Council to take measures in this regard.
The letter was sent on November 1 to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, United Kingdom (the rotating president of the Security Council in November) and UN General Assembly President Philemon Yang.
The said letter was sent by the Arab League, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and 52 countries including Turkey, Iran, Palestine, Bahrain, Bangladesh, UAE, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Djibouti, China, Indonesia, Morocco, Gambia, South Africa, Iraq, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Colombia, Comoros, Kuwait, Cuba, Libya, Lebanon, Maldives, Malaysia, Mexico, Egypt, Mauritania, Namibia, Nigeria, Nicaragua, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Tunisia, Oman, Jordan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. 204
