Iran's Parliament Speaker stated that Iran protests against and rejects a statement issued by Moscow and Arab countries of the Persian Gulf that allegedly disputed Iran's sovereignty over three islands in the region.

Iran PressIran news: On Monday, July 10, 2023, Russia and Arab countries of the Persian Gulf issued a joint statement in which foreign ministers expressed their support for a UAE initiative to reach a peaceful solution to the issue of the islands through bilateral negotiations or the International Court of Justice.

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, on July 16, 2023, in his pre-agenda speech, noted: The three Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb, and the Lesser Tunb belong to Iran forever.

He emphasized: We announce to Iran's neighbors, including Russia, that maintaining the stability and economic development of the region is possible only on the basis of observing the principles of good neighborliness, including respect for the territorial integrity of our country. 

Ghalibaf went on to underline: The territorial integrity of Iran will not compromise with any side or anyone.
