Iran Press/Iran news: Addressing the US over its claim of negotiation with Iran, Seyyed Abbas Mousavi reminded Washington that to hold talks with Tehran the US must first terminate its economic terrorism against the Islamic Republic.
“As long as the US has not stopped its economic terrorism and exerting pressure on the Iranian nation, the Islamic Republic will enter into no talks with the United States,” the Iranian spokesman said.
The US foreign policy suffers confusion which indicates their hypocrisy when it comes to declaring their positions, and that is why the Islamic Republic does not take what they say seriously, Mousavi added.
In another part of his speech, Iranian Spokesman said, “the French President, as a member of 4+1, has initiated measures to deescalate tensions and the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that it welcomes these efforts and doesn’t deny them."
The remarks came as some media outlets claim that France has proposed to a credit line of $15bn to run the European payment channel with Tehran, INSTEX. Mousavi highlighted that these are just media ‘speculations’.
Iran says as long as the mechanism does not cover its oil revenues, INSTEX is of no use to the country.
