The head AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi

The head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) has said in order to decrease tensions between Iran and America, US sanctions against Iran should be lifted.

Iran Press/Iran news: Ali Akbar Salehi said: "Its very clear that Iran and America have many fundamental problems and for 40 years, America has been our enemy."

Salehi added: "The major reason of this enmity is the different political perspectives of the two countries, actually Iran and US see the world in very different ways," Iran Press reported.

He also added: "Iran is a modern and independent country that respects religious values, but America is the pioneer of liberalism in the world."

He stressed that one of the aims of the Islamic Republic of Iran is justice and equality between countries but America just wants priority and domination of the world.  Iran has an important role in the region and America has authority in the world.

Salehi added: "Since the Islamic revolution of 1979 up to now, Iran has just tried to protect and maintain its lawful rights, and Iran's peaceful civilian nuclear energy programme is one of them."

America wants to put Iran under pressure but knows that sanctions are ineffective.  101/211/216
