Iran freestylers bag 2 gold in Turkish tournament

Iranian freestyle wrestlers Mohammad Sadeq Firouzpour and Alireza Abdollahi won gold medals in 70 kg and 92 kg weight categories in an International Wrestling Tournament in Turkey.

Iran Press/Iran news: The preliminary competitions were held on Friday and Ali Reza Rekabi in the weight category of 97kg advanced to the final match.

In 70kg weight category, Mohammad Sadeq Firouzpour defeated rivals from Turkey in the first round and Kyrgyzstan for the second and third rounds and advanced to the final match, IRNA reported.

In the final match, he overpowered Azeri rival and grabbed a gold medal. Abdollahi, in 92 kg weight category, overcame opponents from Georgia and Turkey and advanced to the final stage. In the final match, he defeated an opponent from the Republic of Azerbaijan and received a gold medal.
