Iranian foreign minister on Monday arrived in the Serbian capital, Belgrade for an official visit to the region.

Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in the Belgrade and was welcomed by the Serbian high-ranking officials.

It is expected that the Iranian foreign minister will discuss the bilateral trade and economic ties with the Serbian officials, including his counterpart and the Serbian president and prime minister.

A forum on Iran-Serbia trade ties is also expected to be held during Zarif's visit to Serbia.

Zarif, heading a politico-economic delegation, left Tehran for a visit to four Eastern European countries on Monday.

He is scheduled to visit Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina during the regional tour which started from Belgrade.A high-ranking trade delegation comprising economic activists and entrepreneurs from private and public sectors are accompanying Zarif during his tour of Balkan and East European states, Foreign Ministry spokesmen Bahram Qasemi earlier said.

Meeting his counterparts and other top officials of those countries and convention of fora between traders are on the agenda of the Iranian foreign minister's regional tour, he added.
