Iran Press/ Asia: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government of Islamabad signed a ceasefire agreement with the mediation of the Afghan Taliban in November last year. However, the armed opposition group "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" announced in a statement on Monday last week that the patience of this group has run out and it has asked its supporters to attack the targets and military forces of Islamabad in all states of the country.
He made the remarks in an interview with Al-Jazeera in response to a question asked about Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Zardari also expressed frustration over the TTP’s ongoing activities.
“As far as the TTP is concerned. Absolutely, they have been involved in heinous attacks in the past. Unfortunately, terrorist attacks are still ongoing and we expect our neighbors in Afghanistan and interim authorities there to address the challenges posed by the terrorist organizations.”
But the Taliban said that the TTP is an internal issue of Pakistan and that there are no threats from Afghan soil to other nations. 219
