Iran Press/ West Asia: The Central Command of the US military said early Thursday that the engine room of a ship was damaged after it was targeted by small watercraft and missile attacks that left a Greek-owned cargo ship taking on water and in need of rescue near Yemen's Red Sea port of Hodeidah.

It was on Wednesday evening that Yahya Saree, the spokesman of the Yemeni armed forces, announced: "We carried out a special military operation in the Red Sea using unmanned boats against the Tutor ship."

The Yemeni military spokesman in a statement said that the ship was targeted using a drones  and ballistic missiles, adding that the ship was severely damaged and there is a possibility of sinking.

The statement added that the ship was targeted "because the company that owns the ship violated the decision to ban entry to the ports of occupied Palestine."

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced this morning that it destroyed two anti-ship cruise missile launchers in the areas controlled by the Yemen's Ansarallah.

Yemen has been targeting Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been under an Israeli onslaught since Oct. 7 last year.

The Red Sea is one of the world's most frequently used sea routes for oil and fuel shipments.
