The Sixth Iran-Europe Banking and Business Forum kicked off in Tehran on April 28.
The event, previously held both in Tehran and Frankfurt, will focus on "Iran’s business and banking in post-sanctions era following the implementation of JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action ).
According to Ali Divandari, the head of Iran’s Monetary and Banking Research Institute (MBRI) and the event’s secretary, this year’s forum is focused on several subjects including the country’s banking relations two years after the implementation of the nuclear deal, the perspective of Iran and Europe’s banking ties in the future, a comprehensive framework of risk management, resolving banking issues and exploring ways of due payment and finally introducing investment opportunities in Iran’s oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
The European Union and modern compliance management, non-performing loans, auditing standards such as the International Financial Reporting Standards are also among the topics will be discussed in the forum.
Representatives from politics, science, banking and finance industry including Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Central Bank Governor Valiollah Seif, Annemarie van der Heijden, member of the Iran Task Force, European External Action Service of the European Union, Ulrich von Zanthier he Head of KPMG financial services will participate in the forum.
"Experience has shown that the interaction between the Iranian policy makers and the Privet sector on one hand with the foreign entrepreneurs and business men in the events like this serves as the best opportunity to take a look at the real status s of Iran's economy as well as the necessary reforms and fighting against up coming challenges ."said Iran's Central Bank Governor Valiollah Seif while Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event.
He also hoped that the event like the previous ones will considered as the constructive step for developing Iran's economic relations as well as betterment of Iran's business and banking relations .
The principles of Iran's existing financial system pave the way for prioritizing the recommended reforms .It also would led to systematic implementation of reforms in the field of fighting against money laundry and terrorism financial supports more than ever before he emphasized.
Seif also stressed the enforcement of the regulations superintendence and structures needed for fighting against money laundry and terrorism financial support done by Iran's central bank.
Iran's minister of Roads and Urban Development Ababs ahmad Akhundi who was the next key speaker of the event talked about Iran's expectation from Europe in the filed of Economy .
The topics of the two-day event also include future prospects of Iran's trade ties, the EU and modern compliance management as well as a comprehensive framework of risk management.
The two sides will also discuss issues including fighting money laundering, maintaining international standards, auditing standards and investment opportunities, and renewable energies in Iran.
Previous events of the kind had been held in Tehran and German's Frankfurt.
