Thousands of Iranians took to the streets on Thursday to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the 2009 nationwide rallies while also renewing their allegiance to the Islamic establishment. The occasion, dubbed the “9th of Dey epic”, refers to the huge demonstrations held in Tehran and other cities across Iran on the ninth of the Persian Calendar month of Dey, which falls on December 30, in support of the Islamic Republic. 206
