Nine countries possess 12,705 atomic weapons: Sipri

The US, Russia, UK, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea possess about 12,705 nuclear weapons, of which 9,440 are estimated to be in military stockpiles for potential use, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (Sipri) says in its annual report released on Monday.
