Saudi fighter jets have bombed a southern district of the port city of Hodeidah, in Western Yemen, causing panic among the local population. The district of '7 July' to the south of the city was bombed on Friday.

Middle East: According to an Iran Press report, one Yemeni child was killed on Friday, and 9 other Yemenis were injured in the aerial bombardment. The port city of Hodeidah in western Yemen is the main port thorough which all humanitarian aid, including food, medicines and other essential items enter the country.

On Thursday morning, Saudi fighter jets carried out at least 30 sorties over Hodeidah, bombing "Settin street" and various other districts of the city.

It should be noted that the Saudi-UAE-led invading forces have launched a series of operations to capture the vital port city of Hodeidah since 13 June 2018. All Saudi efforts to capture the port city have so far been unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the United Nations chief coordinator for humanitarian aid in Yemen, Lise Grande, has warned about the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country. Grande says the brutal Saudi-led airstrikes on Hodeidah have terrified the defenseless population of the city.

Last month, The Saudi air raid hit the school bus as it drove through a market in the town of Dhahyan, killing a total of 51 people, among them 40 children, and injuring 79 others, mostly kids. The kids reportedly had been on a much-anticipated field trip marking their graduation from summer school.

Saudi Arabia and its allies launched the war on Yemen in March 2015 to reinstall the former Saudi-backed Hadi regime and crush the Houthi movement.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and an accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.

According to the Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC) report, 683 children were killed or injured by the Saudi-Arabia led coalition in 2016.
