West Asia(IP): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, voiced concern about US-UK aggression in Yemen and called for restraint and avoidance of tension.

Iran Press/ West Asia:  Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of maintaining the security and stability of the Red Sea region on Friday, urging restraint and the avoidance of escalation as the US and UK carried out strikes on multiple targets inside Yemen belonging to the Houthi.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely monitoring with great concern the military operations taking place in the Red Sea region and the airstrikes that several locations in the Republic of Yemen have been subjected to," the Foreign Ministry stated in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, in response to the aggressive attack of the United States and England on Yemen, announced that Riyadh is following this "military operation" with concern.

According to Iran Press, citing the Ministry's page on X social network, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia called for restraint and avoiding escalation of tension.

Saudi Arabia refused to join the American coalition in the Red Sea before.

On the other hand, the Wall Street Journal, citing an American diplomat who participated in the planning and preparation of this attack, claimed that Riyadh strongly opposed this attack due to the possible impact on the peace talks between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Analysts of Persian Gulf issues reported that this action was taken to prevent peace in Yemen from being jeopardized.

The United States and the United Kingdom targeted several areas of Yemen with multiple attacks on Friday morning.

In an interview with Reuters, the American official claimed that the US and British attacks in Yemen were carried out by planes, ships, and submarines.

In defense of the military aggression against Yemen, British Prime Minister Rishi Sonak announced on Friday morning that the Royal Air Force has carried out targeted attacks against the military installations used by the Yemeni Houthis.

Following his country's military aggression against Yemen, US President Joe Biden announced: "On my order, the military forces of the United States of America, together with the United Kingdom and with the support of Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands, carried out successful attacks against several targets in Yemen."

The Associated Press news agency reported, citing "Several American officials," that the American and British armies targeted "more than 12 sites used by Yemen's Houthis."

These military targets have included logistics centers, air defense systems, and weapons storage facilities.

It has been also reported that Tomahawk missiles were fired from air, ground, and subsurface platforms, and these attacks aimed to reduce the Houthis' continuous attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

The report added that the attacked targets included radar systems, drone storage and their flight sites, ballistic and cruise missile warehouses, and their firing sites.

The first deputy governor of Sana'a told Sana'a early on Friday morning that these attacks did not cause any casualties.
