Russia will inform the BRICS countries about the results of the talks with the United States held on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

What it matters:
BRICS is an economic organization established by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, later joined by countries like Iran, Argentina, and Egypt. After Donald Trump's election, the United States cautioned against this bloc due to the BRICS members' de-dollarization efforts.

The big picture:
Russian and US delegations held talks in Riyadh on February 18, where they focused on the resumption of bilateral relations, and preparations for discussing the Ukrainian resolution and a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump.

What he's saying:
"For our part, we will undoubtedly inform our BRICS friends. We know their interest in the settlement of Russian-Ukrainian relations and the cessation of hostilities. We consider their proposals with respect. And very soon we will inform them about the results of the Russian-US negotiations," the Russian leader told reporters during his visit to a drone manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg.
