Russia deployed three missile carriers armed with 20 Kalibr cruise missiles in the Black Sea on Saturday, 24 December.

Iran PressEurope: Up to 11 Russian cruisers are currently on combat duty in the Black Sea; three of them carry Kalibr missiles on board, with a total firing capacity of 20 missiles.

The missile can carry a warhead weighing up to 500 kilograms of explosives or a thermonuclear warhead, and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu put its range at "almost 1,500 km.

Russia continues to control sea communications, keeping up to two ships on combat duty in the Sea of Azov, and nine in the Mediterranean Sea, including five carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total firing capacity of 72 missiles."
