Rockets were fired toward Israeli military posts in the disputed Shebaa Farms area, according to Lebanese media.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Shebaa Farms is a small strip of land near the Lebanon-Syria border and the Golan Heights that Israel has occupied since the 1967 war.

The rocket attack came after Israel’s army earlier reported it had struck several Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including in the villages of Hula and Aita al-Shaab.

Tensions increased after the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas on one side and Israel and Lebanon on the other.

Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, killing at least 24,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring more than 60,800 others, according to local health authorities.
