Tehran(IP)- In a phone call with Turkish president, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran called for greater convergence of Islamic countries to deal with the recent crimes of the Zionist regime.

Iran PressIran News: Zionist soldiers attacked the pilgrims of Al-Aqsa Mosque in the early morning of Wednesday, April 5th, and tried to remove the pilgrims from the mosque.

As a result of this attack, a number of Palestinians were injured. In response to these attacks and barbaric crimes by the Zionist regime, the Palestinian resistance groups also targeted the Zionist settlements around the border of the Gaza Strip with rockets several times.

In this regard, Presidents of Iran and Turkiye, Seyed Ebrahim Raisi and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a phone call discussed and exchanged views on Friday about the attacks of the Zionist regime on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the need for the convergence of the countries of the region to counter these actions.

Referring to the crimes committed by this regime against the Palestinian people, especially the hermits in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the insult to this noble and holy place, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: The Islamic Republic of Iran calls for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to examine ways to deal with the atrocities of the Zionist regime.

Raisi also emphasized the need to respect the territorial integrity of the countries of the region and considered the most important way to fight terrorism and separatism is to support the national sovereignty of the countries of the region.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in this telephone conversation, while appreciating the assistance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the recent earthquake in Turkiye, condemned the recent aggressions of the Zionist regime on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the oppressed people of Palestine.

Moreover, Erdoğan emphasized the convergence and unity of opinion of Islamic countries to deal with these aggressions in the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
