Migrating sea birds, known locally as 'Aab Kakayee' adorn the shores of the Caspian Sea in late autumn and winter months, creating wonderful scenery in the northern Iranian provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran. Ornithologists have so far identified at least 11 different species of these sea birds, welcome winter visitors to northern Iran.
