Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Persian Gulf Star refinery plays a strategic role in energy production and maintaining a balance between Iran and other Persian Gulf states, and the refinery has, for the first time, been able to turn Iran from a net importer of petrol into an exporter of this strategic product.
The large oil and gas complex has been established with the aim of maintaining and continuing gas extraction operations from the South Pars gas field at Assaluyeh and also to make Iran self-sufficient in supplying vital energy products such as petrol and diesel.
Meanwhile, Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh visited the port city of Bandar Abbas on Friday.
In a meeting with top managers of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery, Zanganeh discussed the latest operational status of petrol lines and its capacity to enhance productivity with senior managers at the refinery, pointing out various important points in this regard.
