U.S. attacks on Iran violate international law and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation, Russian Foreign Minister stated on Friday at the East Asia Summit.

Why it matters:

According to the Non-Prolifereation Treaty (NPT), all countries can have peaceful nuclear industry. The U.S., allied with the Israeli regime that has refused to sign the NPT, bombed Iranian nuclear sites and residential places. Iran is a signatory of NPT.

What he's saying:

Sergei Lavrov: "International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) must ensure the security of Iran’s nuclear facilities and resolve disputes through dialogue."

"We call for an extension of the ceasefire between Iran and Israel without any violations."

"What is happening in the Palestinian territories poses a major challenge to the international community."

"If Israel continues its settlement activities, no territory will remain for the Palestinian Authority."

State of play:

Backed by the U.S., the Israeli regime is pursuing its expansionist policies simultaneously with attacking Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and recently Iran.

Flashback:

June 13 early morning, the Israeli regime launched a series of attack on Iranian territories. It assassinated Iranian residents, senior commanders and nuclear scientists as they were with their families.

  • The Israeli attacks claimed the lives about 1,000 Iranian people, a major part of whom were women and children.
