Zahedan (IP) - Following a terrorist attack on a police station on Friday, 30 September 2022, in Zahedan city, the capital of Sistan and Baluchistan province, southeast of Iran, and a few days of unrest in the city, calm has covered the city.

After the death of a young Iranian girl, Mahsa Amini, in the capital city of Tehran, some cities, including Zahedan, faced riots with the incitement of enemies of the Islamic Republic and anti-revolutionary and hostile media.

The rioters in Zahedan caused damage to public places and properties, and the terrorists killed some security forces and police officers in some cities.

On Wednesday, Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri, the commander of the police force of Sistan and Baluchistan province, said the situation in the area was calm.

The commander also appreciated the efforts of tribal leaders and Shia and Sunni scholars to restore peace in Sistan and Baluchistan province.

After the Friday incident (30 September 2022), Iranian security forces responded quickly, and the plots of the terrorists to attack people while performing the Friday prayer remained neutralized.

Today, The police chief of Sistan and Baluchistan province said that 13 arm smuggling gangs and war ammunition were destroyed in the cities of Zahedan, Zabul, and Khash with intelligence operations in the last two weeks.
