Iran Press/ Middle East: Kuwait's Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Al-Afasi said the resumption of importing food from Iran was a decision made by the Ministry to meet the people’s needs from Kuwait’s markets.
Kuwaiti markets have seen a shortage of some goods and food in recent days, as well as price hikes.
Kuwait had previously banned the import of any agricultural products from Iran after the coronavirus outbreak.
In Thursday's urgent meeting of the Persian Gulf member states’ ministers of commerce, Kuwait also suggested setting up a food safety network to meet the food security of the Persian Gulf states, so that it could supply the needs.
