However, Messi scored 10 minutes later before converting a 74th-minute penalty, which proved to be the final goal of the game.
Overall, it was a disappointing display by PSG for much of the game, but their individual brilliance means that they were able to come away from the match with a victory.
The result means that PSG remain top of Group A on seven points from their opening three games, with Manchester City in second on six points after their win against Club Brugge earlier in the day
