Iran Press/ Europe: During the three-day visit, Major General Mohammad Bagheri met with senior Russian military officials, including Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia Valery Gerasimov and Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.
The official invitation of the Russian Minister of Defense reflects Iran's unique role in achieving stability and security in the region and the declaration of global powers on the need for Iran to play a role in regional and international equations.

In an interview with the Russia-24 news network, Major General Bagheri said: "There were very useful discussions on bilateral issues including the implementation of the contract for the purchase of fighter jets, combat helicopters, training jets, the exchange of experiences, and the training of troops."
Iran-Russia cooperation has played an influential role in ensuring security and strengthening convergence in the face of common threats, while the existing potentials in the Caspian Sea, Eurasia, and North-South International Corridor have doubled the importance of Iran-Russia relations. Therefore, General Bagheri's visit to Moscow can be considered a meeting with critical and strategic goals.
