Tehran (IP) - Iran's Judiciary Spokesman, Asghar Jahangir in the weekly press conference said that the legal process of the assassination of martyr Haniyeh in Tehran is under prosecution both internally and internationally.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Judiciary spokesman, Asghar Jahangir on Tuesday told Iran Press that the legal process of the assassination of the late political leader of the Hamas resistance movement, martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran is underway and the case kicked off from day first of Israeli crime both inside Iran by Judiciary and in the international arena by Iran foreign ministry.

The Israeli regime assassinated Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in a Tehran guesthouse when he was invited to the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Haniyeh's resident was targeted by a short-range missile.

Jahangir said that besides the resistance movement's tough response to the Zionist regime's state terrorism action, Iran's judiciary branch filed a case followed by Iran's attorney general order to investigate the domestic dimension of the incident and the issue is under prosecution.

Iran's Judiciary spokesman said that Israeli action is a clear example of state terrorism which is condemned globally.

Jahangir said: "A follow-up order has been issued and is underway by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iran's High Council for Human Rights to discuss the matter in the United Nations Security Council.

"We use all of our legal capacities in the international arena to prosecute this crime. Iran won't spare any efforts in using all its legal, and political capacities to respond to Israeli crime, Jahangir said adding that " Iran has the right to legitimate defense and can use it, and consultations are on the agenda with regional and friendly countries to decide on the proper respond to Israeli crimes."

Iran's judiciary spokesman said that the Israeli regime violated Resolution 3314 of the General Assembly and Article 8 of the International Criminal Court (ICC) which prohibits such a crime.
