Late spring snowfall has covered mountains of Kelardasht, in Mazandaran province, north of Iran.

Here in Iran's solar Hijri calendar, it is late spring,  but light dustings of snow turned this beautiful part of Iran into winter.

Cupped between towering, broad-shouldered peaks, Kelardasht is known as the ‘Paradise of Iran’.

It is extremely rare (or possibly unprecedented) for snow to fall in the Iranian month of Khordad (late spring) , but this year that has been the case.  Few people in Kelardasht  can remember snow in the month of  Khordad ( which corresponds to late May and early June ).
