The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres has decried the loss of thousands of civilian lives in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.

Iran PressAmerica: Guterres said it is clear that thousands of children have been killed in just a few weeks.

“This is what matters,” he said at the press briefing held at the UN, adding: "We are witnessing a killing of civilians that is unparalleled and unprecedented in any conflict since I am secretary general."

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the Palestinian resistance forces launched a surprise operation called Al-Aqsa Storm against Israeli positions, and in a retaliation attack, the Israeli regime closed all the crossings of the Gaza Strip and started bombarding this area.

Some 13,000 people in Gaza, including at least 5,500 children, have been killed, according to officials in the besieged territory.
