Iran Press/Iran News: The main building of the museum was built in 1916 by Akbar Sanati-Zadeh as an orphanage, but in 1977, it was changed to Kerman Museum of Contemporary Art.
Valuable works of Iranian artists such as Kamal-ol-Molk, Ali Akbar Sanati, Gholamhossein Nami, Parviz Tanavoli, Jazeh Tabatabai, Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari, and Hossein Mahjoub have been exhibited in the museum.
In 2006, some paintings and personal belongings of Sohrab Sepehri, a famous Iranian poet, were donated to the Kerman Museum of Contemporary Art.
The museum also features beautiful works by foreign artists, including Wassily Kandinsky, Tom Phillips, Auguste Rodin, and Henry Moore.
Currently, 1,500 works, including paintings and sculptures by 83 Iranian artists and 16 foreign artists, are kept in this museum.
Kerman Museum of Contemporary Art is built in a line of clay and brick with a dome-shaped roof. This museum is one of the tourist attractions of Kerman in southeastern Iran.
