Tehran (IP)- "Japan should take serious action to release Iranian blocked assets," Iran's parliament speaker told the Japanese Foreign Minister.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi: "Considering that the trade relations between the two countries have been extremely reduced under the unilateral US sanctions, the two countries' capacities should be used to promote trade relations and solve problems."

During the meeting, the Japanese Foreign Minister also said: "The Japanese Parliament is interested in developing relations with the Islamic Consultative Assembly."

Referring to the need to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Japan, the Japanese Foreign Minister said: "We are interested in strengthening bilateral talks on economic issues."

The Japanese Foreign Minister has previously met Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
