Regional countries are seeking new identity, big powers play a role in the distortion of Persian Gulf's name.

" Dr. Alizadeh, a  leading researcher at Iran's supreme national defense university, added:  "The regional countries are seeking new identity for themselves but new identity requires a history behind it. They are trying to distort developments in the region, their histories and issues like "the Persian Gulf". They are willing to go to amazing lengths to create a (fake) new identity for themselves, with very high cost propaganda in different media and cyber space but the fact is that identity cannot be made."

He added:  "Identity is relevant to a history and others inherit it. So the name of Persian Gulf has always existed. Many countries in the region raise such issues and try to build an identity for themselves including using fake names such as 'the Arabian Gulf' or simply the Gulf".

" Usually powers from beyond this region, formerly France and the UK, and in more recent years, the United States have worked towards "an illusion of insecurity in the region" in order to achieve their interests. The reality is that we see in recent historic documents a British individual, for the first time ever, coined the fake name "the Arabian Gulf" , and the incorrect term was used in some documents after that. Off course at that time no one paid attention to that since it was incorrect historically and went against reality.

Dr. Alizadeh added:  "The big powers cannot create rifts and  divisions by distorting the name Persian Gulf".
