Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, emphasized the importance of prioritizing neighboring countries in the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy, while advocating for the formation of a "strong region" through continued dialogue.

Iran Press/West Asia: In a message shared on social media following his visit to Qatar for bilateral and multilateral meetings, Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the ongoing regional interactions, stating: "Qatar's cooperation brings great fortune."

He also highlighted the first informal meeting between Iran's foreign ministers and their counterparts from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held on the sidelines of the Asian Cooperation Summit.

He reiterated that Iran's primary goal is to establish a "strong region," and emphasized the necessity of dialogue to achieve this aim.

During a previous meeting with GCC members, the Iranian foreign minister reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s consistent focus on strengthening ties with its neighbors, promoting regional cooperation, and working towards the creation of a strong, unified region involving all countries.

The meeting, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, saw regional and international developments discussed. Both Iranian and GCC foreign ministers emphasized the importance of convergence and cooperation across various fields within the region.

Additionally, the ministers agreed to continue bilateral and multilateral talks to enhance relationships and explore avenues for collaboration, aiming to promote the growth and prosperity of the region.
