Tehran (IP) – Iran’s Foreign Minister has appointed Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani as the Special Envoy to West Asia, who will travel to Lebanon on his first mission.

Iran Press/West Asia: Sheibani, who is scheduled to travel to Beirut soon for consultations with Lebanese officials, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi earlier on Tuesday. During their meeting, he provided a detailed report on the current situation in Lebanon, including the actions of Israel following the assassination of Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and several of his comrades.

Highlighting the sensitive nature of the situation in West Asia, Araghchi emphasized the need for the international community to take swift action against Israel’s destabilizing and provocative measures in the region. He urged global efforts to curb Israel’s aggressive moves and prevent further escalation.

The Foreign Minister also gave Sheibani specific instructions, stressing the importance of increasing political activity and coordinating collective actions with other countries that seek stability and peace in the region.

Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani has previously held several key diplomatic positions, including Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs and Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Lebanon, Syria, and Tunisia.
