New York (IP) - Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations stated that Iran categorically rejects the baseless accusations of the United States against Iranian armed forces.

Iran PressAmerica: Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, in a letter to the rotating president of the Security Council on Tuesday night, rejected the US baseless accusations against the Iranian Armed Forces.

Iravani also condemned the recent American military operations against Iraq and Syria.

In the letter, the senior Iranian diplomat reiterated illegal US operations in Iraq and Syria that deliberately targeted civilians and critical infrastructures and resulted in numerous casualties and injuries.

Iravani said the US notification submitted to the Security Council under Article 51 of the UN Charter lacks legal justification and does not legitimize military actions against Iraq and Syria which violate the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of these two countries.

That’s a day after, Iravani addressed the Security Council and highlighted US aggression against several regional countries, the Israeli genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and Iran's response to any threat to its sovereignty.

Iravani continued in the letter: "In addition, the Republic of Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemned the military aggression of the United States, which violated the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of these two countries; therefore, the notification that the United States submitted to the Security Council under Article 51 of the UN Charter lacks legal justification and does not legitimize such aggressive actions."

The United States has made the West Asian region insecure and unstable through its military presence for years, and from time to time escalates tension in this sensitive region with its aggressive military actions.
