Iran Press/Asia: In the meeting on Tuesday both officials emphasized the importance of joint investment in water resources and efficient management of water resources, and the importance of balanced development on both sides of the Iran-Afghanistan border.
Energy minister, Reza Ardakanian, also had a meeting on Tuesday with the executive head of the national unity government of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah, according to Iran Press.
In this meeting, both officials stressed the need to make the Iran-Afghanistan joint commission more active in areas such as the development of economic ties between Tehran and Kabul, cooperation in the energy sector and cooperation in the efficient management of water resources, and development of the port city of Chabahar in southeastern Iran.
Iran's energy minister, Reza Ardakanian, also had a meeting with his Afghan counterpart, Mohammad Gol Khalmi.
The two ministers reviewed the latest details of cooperation between Tehran and Kabul in water resources and the energy sector.
The two energy ministers also agreed on the provision of Iran's expertise and experiences to Afghanistan in the field of electricity generation, construction of power plants, and construction of a waste incineration unit to dispose of waste.
The two ministers also agreed on the need to cooperate on infrastructure projects.
