Iran Press/ Europe: In a statement regarding the "NPT Safeguards Agreement of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Naziri referred to the differences within the Board concerning a resolution proposed by the three European countries—Britain, France, and Germany—against Iran during the last session. He asserted that despite the provocative actions of these countries and the passage of the resolution, Iran remained committed to the comprehensive safeguards agreement and continued its cooperation with the IAEA.
Naziri warned of the consequences of continuing such unmeasured actions, stating that while Iran has expressed its preference for constructive interaction with the Agency, it is prepared to respond to any unwise position or action. In another part of his speech, Naziri mentioned the recent correspondence between the IAEA Director General and the President of Iran, expressing hope that these interactions would pave the way for greater cooperation to resolve outstanding issues and move towards a better position that serves the objectives outlined in the IAEA's statute.
Regarding the IAEA Director General's latest report on Iran's nuclear activities, Naziri noted that in good faith, Iran allowed the installation of nine surveillance cameras and two enrichment monitoring devices (EMD) as part of the joint statement dated March 4, 2023.
He stressed that the progress achieved through mutual cooperation with the Agency should be recognized by the Board.IAEA inspectors have visited Iran's nuclear facilities multiple times and have never found evidence indicating that Iran's peaceful nuclear energy program has deviated towards military purposes.
The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to collaborate with the IAEA within the framework of the comprehensive safeguards agreement, emphasizing that remaining issues can be resolved through a professional and impartial approach by the Agency.
