The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors' seasonal meeting commenced this Monday morning at the agency's headquarters in Vienna, with the participation of its member states.

Iran PressEurope: Key topics on the agenda for the five-day meeting include nuclear safety and security, strengthening the agency's activities related to nuclear science, technology, and applications, verification and monitoring in the Islamic Republic of Iran under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015), safeguards requests for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, implementation of NPT safeguards in Syria, NPT safeguards agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran, nuclear safety, security, and safeguards in Ukraine, the transfer of nuclear material within the AUKUS framework and its safeguards under the NPT, and the application of IAEA safeguards in the Middle East.

On the first day of the session, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi is scheduled to deliver his opening statement to the agency members.

Additionally, Grossi will hold a press conference later today, where he is expected to provide further details to journalists regarding the key issues discussed during the five-day meeting.
