Iran Press/ Iran news: A drone fired by Hezbollah exploded in the central seaside town of Caesarea early on Saturday and targeted Zionist Regime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home, his office said.
Besides tensions inside the occupied lands and criticism against Israeli military forces for not being able to deter drone attacks on the Zionist PM's private house, on Saturday evening Netanyahu said in a statement: "The agents of Iran who tried to assassinate me and my wife today made a bitter mistake."
Netanyahu said the attack would not deter him from continuing the war.
In reaction, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that the Zionist regime had been founded based on spreading lies and distorting facts.
"The Zionist regime has been formed based on lies and distortion of facts. Spreading lies is the current and permanent practice of this regime and its criminal leaders”, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman said.
Also, The Iranian permanent mission to the United Nations dismissed Israeli PM allegations.
In response to a question, Iran's Permanent Mission reminding Iran’s missile operation on Israel on October 1 in response to the assassination of Late Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh said: " We have already responded to the Israeli regime, and Hezbollah has carried out the action in question".
Israeli Military said that "a drone fired by Hezbollah exploded in the central seaside town of Caesarea early on Saturday and the drone was one of three launched from Lebanon, and that the other two were shot down.
But an Axios report said that the drone hit the prime minister’s house.
"This is the first time since the beginning of the war that a target affiliated directly with Netanyahu has been hit,” it reported, without elaboration.
The UK Daily website Guardian, also reported that the house was hit and sustained damage.
INVESTIGATION OF ISRAELI MISSILE DEFENSE FAILURE
The Zionist regime military said it was investigating the incident that saw several failures of Israel’s warning system.
No warning sirens were sounded in Caesarea ahead of the drone impact and explosion, Hebrew media reported.
Footage posted to social media appeared to show attack helicopters in the air that were apparently hunting the drone further to the north.
“We heard helicopters above us and there was a feeling that there was some sort of incident but there were no sirens so we were not too worried,” one Caesarea resident told Israeli Channel 12. “But then suddenly a large explosion was heard and it was not clear to us if it was from an interception or a drone impact but it was clear that it was a real incident with no prior warning," Times of Israel reported.
In addition to the drone attacks, Hezbollah also fired rockets at northern Israel.
A barrage of some 20 rockets was fired at the Safed area.
On Friday, the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement announced that it was launching a new phase in its anti-Israel operations in response to the regime’s airstrikes and ground offensive against Lebanon.
