Iran Press/Iran News: According to the statistics by Iran's Health Ministry, the number of Iran's COVID-19 death per day has decreased from 215 deaths on August 5 to 156 deaths on August 7, showing a sharp decline.
The Spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari on Friday referred to the latest data on the coronavirus and its death toll, saying that fortunately, 279,724 patients have recovered and discharged so far.
Lari stated: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to August 7, 2,450 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed. Also, the number of patients with this disease reached 322, 567."
1,145 of the new patients were hospitalized, she added.
The spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 156 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total number of deaths to 18,132."
The official stated: "4,136 patients are in intensive care units."
"A total of 2,637,575 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.
According to the Lari, Tehran, Mazandaran, East Azarbaijan, Golestan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Semnan, Qom, Gilan, Yazd, and Markazi provinces are in a critical situation (Red status).
