Tehran (IP) - The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health said that so far 253,213 of the total infected people have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Iran Press/Iran News: Sima Sadat Lari on Sunday reported the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 26 in the country, 2,333 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 291,172."

1,282 of the new patients were hospitalized.

Fortunately, 253,213 patients have recovered and discharged so far, Lari added.

The spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 216 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 15,700."

The official stated: "3695 patients are in intensive care units."

So far, around 2,372,850 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Mazandaran, Fars, East and West Azerbaijan, Khorasan Razavi, Alborz, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Golestan, Kerman, Zanjan and Ilam are in a critical situation (Red status). 

She added that Tehran, Isfahan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Qazvin, Markazi, North Khorasan, Hamadan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Ardabil and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces are on alert.
