Iran Press/Iran News: Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, this evening on Tuesday 21 July, during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa al-Kazemi, said that the relations between Iran and Iraq are based on many common historical, religious, cultural, customs and traditions in the true sense of the word.
The Leader emphasized that what is very important for the Islamic Republic of Iran in bilateral relations is interests, security, dignity, regional authority and the improvement of the situation in Iraq.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasizing that Iran has never had and will never interfere in the affairs of Iraq, and said: Iran wants a dignified, independent Iraq, while maintaining its territorial integrity and internal unity and cohesion.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution noted: "Iran is definitely opposed to anything that weakens the Iraqi government."
Ayatollah Khamenei added: "Of course, the American view of Iraq is exactly the opposite of Iran's because the United States is literally the enemy and does not agree with an independent, strong Iraq with a majority government supported by people."
Iran's Leader said: "It does not matter to the Americans who the prime minister of Iraq is," they are looking for a government like the administration of Paul Bremer, the American ruler of Iraq in the early days of Saddam's fall."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: "Iran does not interfere in Iraq's relations with the United States, but expects Iraqi friends to know the United States and know that the US presence in any country is a source of corruption, destruction and destitute."
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran expects the decision of the Iraqi government, people and parliament to expel the Americans to be pursued because their presence causes insecurity."
Iran's Leader referred to the US atrocities in the assassinations of Major General Ghasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes as an example of the result made by the US presence in Iraq and said to al-Kazemi: "They killed your guest in your home and explicitly admitted to this crime and this is not small a matter."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will never forget this crime and will definitely strike a blow to the US."
Ayatollah Khamenei called the consensus of Iraqi political groups and currents to elect Mr. Mustafa al-Kazemi's government a welcoming step, and added: "The Americans and their agents are always looking for a power vacuum in the countries of the region in order to create chaos and prepare the ground for their intervention, as they did in Yemen, and now everyone is witnessing the deplorable situation in Yemen."
Emphasizing Iran's support for Mr. Mustafa al Kazemi's government, Ayatollah Khamenei noted: Reason, religion and experience demand that the relations between Iran and Iraq be further improved in all fields."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: "Of course, the expansion of Iran-Iraq relations has opponents, led by the United States, but in no way should we be afraid of the United States because they can not do anything."
Ayatollah Khamenei said: "The Americans are causing trouble, but the Iraqi government must continue on its path with strength, regardless of these disturbances, and keep the people as its main support."
Iran's Leader called the authority and personality of Ayatollah Sistani a great blessing for Iraq, noting; Hashd al Sha'abi (Iraqi Popular Mobilization Force) is another great blessing in Iraq that must be preserved.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Eshagh Jahangiri, Iran's First Vice President, The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa al-Kazemi, called the meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution a great blessing.
Al Kazemi appreciating Iran's positions and support at various times, especially during the war with ISIS and the Takfiris, said: "The Iraqi people will never forget Iran's support, and the fact is that the blood of Iraqis and Iranians is mixed in the war against the Takfiris terrorists."
The Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized that Iran-Iraq relations are a deep, historical, cultural and religious relationship with the support of love and devotion to Prophet's Household (Ahl al-Bayt) AS.
Mustafa al-Kazemi also addressed the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and said: "Your Excellency's guidance and advice is key to solving problems, and I thank and appreciate these guidelines."
