Tehran (IP) - President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani has officially welcomed the Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on Tuesday afternoon.

Iran Press/Iran News: The welcoming ceremony of the Iraqi Prime Minister was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Summit Hall of the Islamic Countries in Tehran. In this ceremony, the national anthem of the two countries was played.

The ceremony was attended by Saeed Namaki, Minister of Health, Brigadier General Hatami, Minister of Defense, Bijan Zanganeh, Minister of Oil, Mohammad Eslami, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Hossein Modarresi Khiabani, Acting Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, and Abdul Nasser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank.

Rouhani and Al-Kazemi entered the bilateral talks immediately after the official welcoming ceremony.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon to meet with senior Iranian officials at the head of a high-level political-economic delegation and was welcomed by Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian upon arrival at Mehrabad International Airport.

A private meeting between Rouhani and Al-Kazemi is underway, followed by bilateral talks between the two countries 'delegations, and joint talks between the two countries' high-level delegations in the presence of First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri and Mustafa al-Kazemi.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution will receive the Iraqi Prime Minister during his two-day visit to Iran and the Iraqi PM will also meet with the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

Mustafa al-Kazemi will be accompanied on his trip to Tehran by the Iraqi foreign, oil, electricity, finance, defense, health and national security advisers.

Visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran is Mustafa al-Kazemi's first foreign trip since taking office as prime minister in May.
