Tehran (IP) - Two Iranian oil companies of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Petropars signed two contacts in a ceremony on Monday to develop South Azadegan oilfield, resulting in the increase of oil production.

Iran PressIran News: The first contract which aims at developing South Azadegan oilfield will produce 320,000 barrels of crude oil and 200 million cubic feet of gas per day in 30 months with a total value of 961 million dollars (1183 billion tomans).

The second contract aimed at building the biggest Central Treatment Export Plant (CTEP) with the capacity of producing 320,000 oil barrels per day in 30 months with a total value of 300 million dollars.

The contracts will increase the production capacity of the country's crude oil and protects the national capital in joint oil fields.

Meanwhile, Managing-Director of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said that the South Azadegan oil field is the symbol of development in the oil industry.

As the most important joint oilfield of West Karun in southwestern Iran, South Azadegan oilfield is located at Iraq's border, 80 km west of Ahvaz with an area of 1125 square meters.
