Iran, Senegal discuss oil and agricultural cooperation

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Dakar met with the Senegalese Ministers of Oil and Agriculture to discuss various aspects of cooperation between the two countries.

Iran Press/Africa: Iranian Ambassador to Dakar Mohammad-Reza Dehshiri met with Senegal's Minister of Petroleum and Energy Mouhamadou Makhtar Cisse on Friday to discuss the fifth meeting of the Iran-Senegal Joint Commission and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of official relations between the two countries.

The Iranian Ambassador also met with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Senegal Moussa Balde.

They discussed various capacities in the field of agriculture, including extraterritorial cultivation, preparation of the private sector of the Islamic Republic of Iran for investment and cooperation in this field, the introduction of Iran's industrial capabilities in manufacturing various agricultural machinery, research cooperation, and export and import of agricultural products.

On 25 July 2019, Mohammad Javad Zarif Iranian Foreign Minister and his Senegalese counterpart Amadou Ba in a meeting in Dakar, capital of the country have insisted on boosting bilateral relations between the two nations in all fields of interest including trade, energy, automotive industry, nanotechnology and etc.

The necessity for a joint economic commission between Iran and Senegal and mutual cooperation in international circles, especially in the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, were also discussed in the meeting.
