Tehran (IP) - Iran and Russia's President in a phone conversation on Thursday, stressed the expansion and deepening of Tehran-Moscow relations in all fields.

Iran PressIran news: During the telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, emphasized the development of balanced and bilateral cooperation with Moscow at all political, economic, scientific and cultural levels, and called for consultations and talks attended by the officials of the two countries.

Rouhani went on to express his satisfaction over the implementation and operation of the two countries' agreements.

Referring to the holding of a virtual summit of the leaders of Iran, Russia, and Turkey with the aim of establishing peace, stability, and tranquility in Syria, Rouhani stressed the need for continued cooperation between the three countries in the Astana process to achieve this very goal, especially in humanitarian issues.

The President of Iran, while emphasizing the importance of full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an international commitment for the signatories, called for countering US unilateralism and Its recent efforts to end Iran's arms embargo.

Elsewhere, Rouhani also stressed the need for cooperation between the two countries and the exchange of experiences in the fight against the COVID-19, referring to the outbreak of the disease in Iran and other countries and the resurgence of the virus over the past month.

Explaining Russia's position on the JCPOA, the Russian President said: "As in the past five years, we will support this international document insisting on its implementation and preservation."

Putin also stressed the development of relations with Iran in all fields and added: "We welcome cooperation with Iran in the field of containing COVID-19 and exchange of experiences."

During the phone call, the Russian President stressed the continuation of Russia's support for Iran's position in the international community. 207
