Iran Press/Iran News: In a statement on Wednesday, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the international nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has faced serious risk.
"If this agreement is not taken care of by the international community to ensure the balanced and well-intentioned implementation from all parties, it could be another victim of the US government's unilateral approach, whose international responsibility and consequences will fall exclusively on the country and its allies," the statement said.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the international, legal, technical, strategic, and political capital of the international agreement has deeply been eroded by the destructive illegal actions of the United States.
It remarked that the remaining parties of the JCPOA are aware that the main reason for the current situation is the continuous violations of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2231 and, ultimately, the illegal and unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the agreement.
Elsewhere in the statement, the Iranian foreign ministry pointed to Tehran's good intention in carrying out transparent, trust-building voluntary actions in JCPOA and noted not only Iran did not benefit from the economic advantages of lifting the sanctions, but some of JCPOA's enemies are seeking to revive the closed cases, with the aim of completely destroying the agreement achievements.
The Iranian diplomacy agency also appreciated the actions and positions of the of Chinese and Russian governments referring the three European countries (Britain, France, Germany) in the international agreement and called on them to foster a condition to fully preserve and implement the JCPOA, instead of walking in the path of the US maximum pressure policy.
The statement expressed concern over the involvement of some off the remaining parties with the US plots against JCPOA and the stressed that re-negotiation of the agreement is not tolerable under any circumstance and the response of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be decisive and determining.
US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from the international agreement on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in violation of Washington's commitments under the JCPOA, and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.
