Iran Press/Europe: In a virtual meeting with the Iranian businessmen and economic activists in Russia on Friday, Kazem Jalali said despite their close and intertwined relations in the political, diplomatic, and security spheres, Iran and Russia are far apart economically.
"If we want to say that the relations between Tehran and Moscow are strategic, the economic relations between the two sides must be expanded and the trade balance between them must be higher than the figures that are not acceptable today," Jalali stressed.
He said it is only through expanding economic relations that a meaningful and deep-rooted relationship with Russian can be established.
The Iranian traders for their part discussed their concerns with the envoy, including the engagement of Iran's embassy in facilitating export to Russia, and the increase of the number of Iranian trade consultants in Russia.
