Iran gas production capacity exceeds 1 billion cubic meters

Tehran (IP)- The Director of Coordination and Supervision of Production of the National Gas Company said in the first quarter of this current Iranian year (starting on March 21), the country's gas refining capacity experienced a 2.2 percent surge and exceeded 1 billion cubic meters per day.

Iran PressIran News: On the latest situation of Iran's gas production surge, Masoud Zardouyan said the capacity of gas processing in the country's refineries has increased to about 1.030 billion cubic meters per day.

Zardouyan noted that the production surge happened despite the major repair of the refineries, adding that with purposeful planning along with the overhauls, the needs of industries, petrochemicals, power plants, and export markets for gas have been met.

The official stressed that it has been planned the number of gas refineries will increase from the 18 existing refineries to 19 in 2021.

"In 2019, the average gas exports increased by about 3 billion and 600 million cubic meters compared to 2018. In total, in 2019, Iran's gas exports experienced a 26% jump compared to its previous year."
